Bulgaria electricity trade with Europe is increasing, providing more economic and reliability benefits to both the European States and Bulgaria. Although the amount of electricity imported over the Bulgarian border is a small part of the overall EU power supply, the transmission connections linking Bulgaria and the EU States are an important component of the electricity markets in northern states.
